Expressing Emotions: Confidence

Confidence comes from knowing or believing that you’re capable of doing/achieving something. It makes you feel secure rather than insecure. I have given examples below, which describe confidence, but it's in your capabilities to decide to use the example that best fits your scene.

  1. Trusts your own abilities/ others abilities (can trust yourself or put trust in others if needed; also doesn’t easily lose trust in yourself or those you know well)
  2. Have shared values with others (this leads to cooperation, gives you an aura of approachability)
  3. Feeling positive about a future event (exam or something)
  4. Leak out a brilliant smile (eyes glow softly unless you are in a battle)
  5. A thorough display of strength or something else
  6. Speaking aloud
  7. Speak slowly and clearly (takes time with sentences; better word choice)
  8. Talking with just the right amount of words
  9. Slow and steady movements (doesn’t haste for no reason)
  10. Watches your hands (doesn’t often touch your face or neck etc, which may make others think you are anxious, uncomfortable, afraid, etc)
  11. Be comfortable with taking up space
  12. Standing tall (taking up space by not slouching or minimizing your body)
  13. Plants your feet in an open wide stance(relaxed; keep your legs aligned with your shoulders and your feet approximately four to six inches apart.)
  14. You always face your opponents (never turns your back to them)
  15. Keeps your head and chin up (not too up but just enough to look others in the eye)
  16. Makes gestures with your palms up and exposed (says that you have nothing to hide)
  17. Have poise (grace, control, upright posture, relaxed)
  18. Gives a firm handshake (not an iron-grip one which can make you look arrogant but a memorable one by equally engaging)
  19. Ability to be firm (even in a storm, like a tree)
  20. Taking big steps (people easily pick up on your confidence from seven yards away)
  21. You don’t walk while looking at your feet (even your life)
  22. Walk with a purpose
  23. Do not panic so easily
  24. Not fidget
  25. Don’t hide your hands (keeps them visible; out of pockets always)
  26. Make eye contact (without looking away; looks attentive and decisive and less shy)
  27. Allow silence (unlike many, you don’t deny the awkward silence or shiver in its presence)
  28. Pauses both in your speech and your movement. (For example when you are getting up, move to the edge of the seat, pause, then get up. Likewise, when walking, point the way you are going, then step. Pausing sends a signal to other people, letting them process what you are about to do and so reduces the chance of them being surprised or worried. This is just one way that confident people inspire confidence in others.)
  29. Doesn’t easily crumble under fear/pressure
  30. Loves riding on fear/pressure unto excellence

This is just a preview of 30 examples.
